[Bonus Weekend Episode]Uber Lyft Drivers and Gig Economy Workers Weekly News & Interviews: Tonight on this weekend bonus episode I have Kenneth "Kelly" Coghill, he is a 5 year veteran of the app-based gig-economy. He drives in the city of brotherly love... Philly, PA. He also worked gig platforms during the pandemic.I have done a couple podcast where I have talked about what other drivers have told me, which is, pay is not better... they just never have any downtime so it appears that way.
Kelly talks with me about how he is making 170% of what he was 2 years ago, WITH THE SAME RATE CARD. ON TOP OF THIS... he shares a problem no that occurred the same day we did this interview, I won't give it away!Ready... Set... Rodeo!!!!!

#71 | Rideshare Safety With Torsten (Rideshare Professor)
Tuesday Aug 24, 2021
Tuesday Aug 24, 2021
Uber Lyft Drivers & Gig Economy Workers Weekly News: This week I have Torsten, a.k.a. The Rideshare Professor on the podcast to discuss Rideshare/delivery driver/passenger safety. We talk about his recent videos surrounding the almost deadly beating of a driver. Torsten's passion about this is right up there with mine, it was a pleasure having him on the show and look forward to having him back.
I also discuss some of the aspects of the ruling from Friday night by a California Judge that Proposition 22 is "unconstitutional". We will be seeing this play out for some time, and costing BOTH the gig companies and California tons of money.

With riders back in full, why are drivers not returning to the rideshare platforms.
Passenger fares are still way too high, drivers not seeing their cut.
Gig Worker Portable Benefits.
Autonomous reality check.
Is Uber marketing for its driver partners?
Lyft and Uber wasted their marketing money months ago.
Pandemic flip-flop Rideshare to Delivery, how will they bring back rideshare drivers.

#69 | Uber Charging Record High Fares, Drivers Not Seeing Their Portion
Tuesday Aug 10, 2021
Tuesday Aug 10, 2021
Uber Lyft Drivers & Gig Economy Workers Weekly News: This week I discuss a few stories related to passengers full return to Rideshare and drivers not coming back on the Rideshare platforms at anywhere near the same pace. Not to mention that Rideshare rides are costing passengers 200% normal rates (give or take). Uber needs to work on re-routing drivers back to their starting city especially with the lack of drivers. New Mexico Border Patrol and Police can't handle the influx of people crossing, what's different here is these crossings are mostly drugs and human trafficking. Now these cartel crossings are using Uber & Lyft to pick them up to easier blend in. Delivery is still strong, even with so many vaccinated people are not going out in big numbers yet. Uber dumped all the divisions that were complete waste of money, and now are working on their core model... Rideshare, Delivery, & Grocery. Virtual Beer Festival, WHAT?
Stay safe everyone!

#68 | Robotaxis & Massachusetts Coalition for Independent Work
Tuesday Aug 03, 2021
Tuesday Aug 03, 2021
Uber Lyft Drivers & Gig Economy Workers Weekly News: This week I have a quick update on the PARA app and DoorDash, we talk about Robotaxis in Miami (Argo.ai, Lyft, and Ford). Bolt has been valued at $4.75billion and will now be entering the grocery delivery space, at the same time that Uber's coronershop is launching. The 9th Circuit Court in Massachusetts yesterday ruled the Uber Drivers must arbitrate misclassification claims, this goes back to September 2019. Lyft, Uber, Instacart, DoorDash are taking Prop22 on the road, starting with Massachusetts, the only problem I see is that these companies still have to prove they will follow their own Prop22 rules and provisions that Independent Contractors need! Be safe out there y'all--!!!

#67 | Uber Drivers and Passengers Seeing Different Receipt Totals
Tuesday Jul 27, 2021
Tuesday Jul 27, 2021
Uber Lyft Drivers & Gig Economy Workers Weekly News: This week I have Marissa Edens on the podcast. We discuss Uber Transparency. Flat Surge vs. Multiplier. With Uber and Lyft charging 150%-250%+ to passengers, a big chunk of that should be going to the drivers, not surprisingly... NONE of it is! Driver surge pricing in most markets has died down, even though Uber is still charging through the roof to its customers. Lyft 'Wait and Save' should be called 'Optional Surge'. Lyft car rental service SiXT charging ridiculous rates. Personal tip when renting cars. Last, Lyft has brought back shared rides... REALLY?!!! Be safe out there y'all--!!!

#66 | SaaS: Delivery App-Based Platforms
Tuesday Jul 20, 2021
Tuesday Jul 20, 2021
Uber Lyft Drivers & Gig Economy Workers Weekly News: This week I have Willy Solis on the podcast. Willy and I both agree on the right to be Independent Contractors, we have different opinions on the ProAct, in past episodes we have shown that both sides need to talk to make real changes. This week we find ourselves fully aligned, we discuss the ongoing saga of app-based gig worker "Transparency". Gig workers with different views are aligning on this push on DoorDash, this is different because they have the information and are NOT showing the Dashers. DoorDash dropped tons of money to pass Prop 22, now they are going back on their promise but NOT being transparent. We can't be employees and I.C.'s DoorDash! DD needs to decide which model they want to follow. Stealing and hiding necessary information from Dashers on the platform is playing both sides though, AND that will NOT be accepted by anyone! Whether you are one of the 200,000 Dashers who have downloaded the PARA app or not, this is the follow up piece to last week. ALL on-demand delivery SaaS platform workers should listen to this week and last week to TRULY know what PARA is up too! Be safe out there y'all--!!!

#65 | Tip Transparency: DoorDash Deceives Dashers!
Tuesday Jul 13, 2021
Tuesday Jul 13, 2021
Uber Lyft Drivers & Gig Economy Workers Weekly News: This week I have Jason Tierri on the podcast. We talk about a few gig economy tidbits, then we move into discussing, the TRUTH about what is going on with PARA. All gig workers should listen to this episode. We cover DoorDash not letting Independent Contractors see the payment before doing the work, a right I.C.'s have! We also cover upcoming updates to the PARA app, and what PARA is doing to combat DD's latest hit job on covering up transparency to its Dashers. Join, us on a trip, to the TRUTH!!!!!

#64 | PARA CEO/Founder (David Pickerell)
Tuesday Jul 06, 2021
Tuesday Jul 06, 2021
Uber Lyft Drivers & Gig Economy Workers Weekly News: This week I have David Pickerell on the podcast to discuss the PARA app, where it is and the direction it is going. We talk about a new FAQ in the app, stability of the app, probably not a good idea to call DoorDash with PARA questions, growth of the app, apologies to users who have been offended in the chat portion of the app (we are taking care of this right now), Mileage/Earnings tracking part of app, other features coming to the app, and moving forward.
