#47 | PRO Act Will Take Away Freedom Of Workers
Tuesday Mar 09, 2021
Tuesday Mar 09, 2021
Uber Lyft Drivers & Gig Economy Workers Weekly News: This week I am broadcasting LIVE with a few special guests dropping in. We had David and Jimmy from WithPara.com, and Ron from EntreCourier.com. I talk about how as the pandemic carries on and people have different takes on masking are turning into quite the arguments. Just yesterday Uber passengers in the Bay Area coughed directly on a driver, ripped his mask off, took his phone, and sprayed mace in the car before exiting (Uber & Lyft say they have closed the persons account). Normally, it takes 1-2 days for a drivers annual background check. The pandemic has caused major delays in this process. Driver Ross Tubs starting driving in January 2020, and drove all through the pandemic. Uber has his account on hold saying his background check is "in process", problem is it has been in process since January 6th. Due to this delay he has been forced to file for unemployment. Last we discuss a last minute insert into the coronavirus aid package that would cost app-based gig workers about $1 billion annually!
